The league saw its second 50 goal scorer of the season when Portland Winterhawks dynamo and St. Louis Blues second round draft pick Ty Rattie put home his 50th this week. While early in the year it looked like Emerson Etem would be running away with the scoring title, Rattie has kept up step for step. QMJHL- Scoring Title Mentality

Everyone loves stats. They help paint a picture of a player’s performance and provide quantifiable numbers to help determine the value of a player. One problem, they only tell part of the story. There are so many instances in a game that never show up on the score sheet. A diving play to break up a two on one, running the goalie or a bad line change can be crucial parts of a game and box score scouts will never see them. OHL WEEKLY RUNDOWN: FEB 16, 2012

Week 21 was highlighted by some high-powered offensive scoring. The Niagara IceDogs, Owen Sound Attack and Ottawa 67′s each won a game by at least 9 goals! On Thursday, the Niagara IceDogs pounded the Mississauga Majors 11-0. Niagara Center Alex Friesen led the way, opening the floodgates at 1:33 of the 1st Period. He would end up being the top scorer in the game finishing with 2 goals, 3 assists, and a +4 rating. Also, the IceDogs defense pairing of Jesse Graham and Jamie Olesiak combined for +12 rating.
